My List Poem

List Poem

A trip to being a diamond player.

One pair of netball, one uniform, one determined netball player ready to make her move.
Ready more ready than ever it's the diamond trials she's out to prove
them wrong.

The netball shoes are extra grippy, colourful and bright
my shoes will make me go speedy and they'll glow at night.

In case I fall over.

The uniform is nice and loose so I can run around
It is so cool it will make the opposition make a sound

In case I get hot.

I've got my bib that says C , my friend puts it on my back
Next thing you know I hear a big whack
I look over it's someone from our team
Everyone is worried and scared out of their minds, there is a big scream

It's extrodinary I've never seen anyone so bad
I hear flip flop, flip flop everyone turns their eyes it's her dad
He walks down casully from the crowd
Gives it a rub puts his arm around her ,we are very proud.

She's up and as ready as a plane about to fly
I'm so excited we won 87-52

Limerick Poem

There was an old man called Paul
And he lived at Riccarton Mall
He loved eating chips
And kissed the girls lips
He got married at the fall.

Cross Country Recount

On Thursday 8th May the whole kauri team walked to Westlake Park for the cross country. Once we got there we all assembled into Yr 4 girls,Year 4 boys etc. They explained the rules and expectations.

The nervs really started to hit me. Mr Forman calls "we are all going to walk around the track". Once we finished walking we sat back down,I thought to myself it's not that long.

I felt a lot of different feelings like enthusiastic, joyful, eager and excited. On the other hand I felt confused, anxious and weary. The next thing I heard was Mr Forman called Yr 4 girls. They were all lining up,then Mr Brown blew the whistle GO!

It took ages before we raced. Mr Forman finally called Yr 6 girls, this was my time to shine. On your marks get set GO I was about 10th and then I passed heaps of people (well it least it seemed like it)

I could feel the cold air going down my croaky, rumbling throat. I could hear someone behind me, it was SamW. It was one lap of the field to go!I luckily passed Isabella so I was one place ahead.

I sprinted to the finish line. Mrs Ellis gave me a 4th place card,I was so happy and proud. I gave my card to Mrs Patten at the sports desk " Great work," she said. I burst into tears of joy. My Mum gave me a big hug and kiss.

Once I got back to my back to my bag I had a huge drink. Then it was the medal ceremony we eventually walked back to school. I was so happy with my efforts so was my family. I came 4th.
